Scope of Practice and role of CDE

In this session learners will develop a deeper understanding of Scope of Practice, strategies for self- assessment and how this relates to the work of the CDE.   

Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs) are healthcare professionals with special training in diabetes management. They may come from various healthcare fields and must be able to use their primary discipline skills in combination with their CDE expertise.

 Learning outcomes:  

1. Understand the fundamentals of Scope of Practice, accountability, and the role of the CDE 
2. Develop strategies for self-assessment of Scope of Practice 
3. Discuss challenging issues in Scope of Practice
