Thank you to all of our members who contributed to our Parliamentary Inquiry into Diabetes submission.
ADEA was pleased to submit our final version on 31 August.
We will submit a total of six submissions with our unified partners.
ADEA is the lead author on the one focused on CDEs and the diabetes workforce.
Diabetes Australia is leading the submissions focused on type 2 diabetes and remission, diabetes in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, diabetes technology, and a general submission/overview of diabetes in Australia.
The Australian Diabetes Society is leading the submission about research.
The submissions can be found at the ADEA website (click here) once they have been uploaded.
We will provide all of these to you once completed.
If you provided input on one of these topics, we passed it on to be included in the appropriate submission.
ADEA was pleased to also collaborate closely with other health professions, including the other diabetes organisations.
We secured a letter of support for our submission from Allied Health Professionals Australia.
We also collaborated closely with a number of primary professions including the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association, Exercise and Sports Science Australia, Dietitians Australia, the Australian Podiatry Association, and Optometry Australia.
We expect this inquiry to last well into 2024, and will keep you updated as it progresses.
